Getting Into the Halloween Spirit

This past week we've been gearing up for trick-or-treating and trying to decide which costume to wear on Halloween night. First we had a neighborhood/park group Halloween party complete with fingerling hot dogs, bubbling punch and other scary treats and activities. After searching Hell's half acre looking for orange tights (not to mention the web and mall) we donned the chicken costume equipped with new orange tights and bows. She makes a cute chicken.

After we got home she was modeling her new orange legs for us.

For our ward camp out/ tent-or-treat we were asked to bring costumes with a camp-like theme or something made out of recycled type goods. Boo took this to heart and has been working on Noelle's camping costume for the past week or so. Being that one of her newer obsessions is Wall-E the robot, Boo made a Wall-E costume from cardboard, duct tape, Gatorade bottles, paper cups, spray paint, and a few other crafting items found around the house.

This was the first real test before tent-or-treating and already she was tired of us taking pictures.
All week Noelle has been asking to "see" Wall-E, obviously wanting to see with her hands. However, Boo knows how destructive she can be and only let her check him out under strict supervision. It only took a few tries to secure his head, but the end result was awesome. We got a lot of Oohs and Ahhs and i can only imagine what the lit up eyes looked like as we traveled through the woods from tent to tent. The camp out wouldn't have been complete without tin foil dinners, campfire stories and some fun activities for the kids.

This is a friendly little note to remind you of the good things about living in AZ - you can still play outside and go camping and stuff you lucky duck. We have already had snow! :(

Wow, your ward does fun stuff. You are lucky, we just have the lame trunk or treat here.

That is the coolest costume ever! We always made costumes growing up, and now I feel like a flake just buying them. Way cool.

The pictures don't even do the Wall-E costume justice. It was an amazing costume! And I can't believe it was just spray paint, I could have sworn he did a little faux finishing on that thing...
